“Alfred Agboola Ajayi” has
reacted to his defeat in the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (“PDP”)
primary election held on Wednesday, July 22, in Ondo state.
“According
to Legit, The opposition party successfully conducted its governorship primary
election with “Eyitayo Jegede” (“SAN”)
emerging the winner.”
“Jegede” defeated
seven other aspirants, including “Agboola
Ajayi”, the embattled deputy governor of Ondo state who recently dumped the
ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to fight for the PDP's ticket.
“The
senior lawyer, who had served as the Ondo state commissioner of justice and
attorney general, polled 888 votes to dislodge “Ajayi” who polled 657 votes.”
Ondo deputy governor “Agboola Ajayi” said he lost in “PDP” primary because he had many foes.
“Accepting
the loss, “Ajayi” who is at
loggerhead with his boss, “Governor
Rotimi Akeredolu”, said he put up a good fight but his best was not enough.”

The
deputy governor, who said he had a lot of forces who stood against him
in the shadow poll, however, said he accepted the outcome of the election in
good faith.
"We
remain undaunted and resolute about our commitment to a people_oriented
government against personalised democracy," (Ajayi said).
"We
wish the good people of Ondo state and the winner the best as we March on. life
goes on.”
