Bill Gates has praised Afrobeats for changing the world of music.

The billionaire, who is in Nigeria to meet with the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while speaking at event acknowledged the impact Afrobeats has made.

Bill Gates revealed that when his daughter, Phoebe Adele heard he was coming to Nigeria, she told him he was lucky because he would get to see "Burna Boy" and "Rema".

The Bill and Melinda Gates founder who didn’t know who they are, said he had to Google them because he had only heard of "Davido" and "Wizkid", whose performances had left him impressed.

"Afrobeat from Nigeria are popular everywhere and when my daughter.

"When my daughter Phoebe heard I was coming to Nigeria, she said: "You’re lucky because you get to see "Burna Boy" and "Rema".

"So I had to look them up…. because I’m so hip.

"But I remember the last time I was here, I got to see Davido & Wizkid perform.
