Tragic: Ghanaian midfielder, Christian Atsu Found Dead At 31, After Going Missing In Turkey Earthquake


Christian Atsu’s agent and Turkish media have apparently confirmed that Atsu has been found dead at age 31, "following the deadly earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6th, 2023."

According to Cloudninesport, Among tens of thousands of others, Atsu one of the victims, after his body was found among the rubble left by the earthquake that has already reportedly left more than 40,000 dead across Turkey and Syria.

{Cloudninesport initially reports he had been found alive and in the hospital, the news were later denied by those responsible at his club, as Atsu remained missing.}

"After a long search the tragic news of his passing was announced earlier today, after being found under the rubble of the building where he lived in Turkey, his agent has said."

"Turkish football agent Murat Uzunmehmet, who handles the player’s rights in Turkey, announced the tragic news on Twitter."

"Murat took to Twitter at 5am on Saturday, February 18th 2023 to announce Atsu’s sad passing.

"Writing in Turkish, he wrote:

“Christian Atsu found and sadly passed away,”  

"The Ghanaian midfielder Atsu was part of the Newcastle United team which won promotion back to the Premier League in 2017 after joining on loan for the season from Chelsea, and later completed a permanent move."
